This vehicle is specifically designed for family transport  around the city. Being the GT-Line it is fully equipped with everything Kia can fit in there including:

• Heated and ventilated front seats
• Heated rear outer seats
• Digital rear view mirror and
• Bose surround audio system

Its especially comfortable inside and with the large expanse of screens, the driver has all the information they need at their fingertips

There is also a 10-inch Head up display above the thick rimmed steering wheel. Although this does polarise out with sunglasses on.

The real story is the 1.6 litre petrol hybrid engine. It has reasonable performance and excellent economy. I averaged around 6.5 litres per 100 kilometres for the week. Not bad for a large SUV.

For new families there are isofix and top tether pints for baby seats and the boot is large enough with the rear seats folded, for all the gear you need. Rear seats have plenty of leg and knee room for adults and baby seats. The rear seats are best left for shorter occupants.

Priced from $70,330 dollars plus the usual costs its also pretty good value.

I recently drove the front wheel drive GXL and models which is the second entry level model.

It doesn’t come with all the bells and whistles like the Edge does, or in fact the Cruiser RAV4, but its comfortable, spacious and comes with the full suite of Toyota safety features.

At the heart of the RAV4 Hybrids is the 2.5L petrol engine with Hybrid technology. This is the same engine that is in the Camry Hybrid. The RAV4 GXL is front wheel drive and comes with a relatively smooth CVT.

Its powerful enough, smooth to drive and has exceptional economy. That’s why they are so popular. I got a bit over 5.0L /100km.

Unlike the Camry, you can still order a hybrid RAV4, but the wait time will be extensive depending on what model you choose.

Inside, ITS reasonably spacious and well laid out. I’m not sure I’m a fan of the central screen sticking up as it does, but not works well enough.

Rear seats are spacious for the size of vehicle and boot space is practical.

The reason the RAV4 hybrid is so popular is because they are good. And it’s a Toyota which Australians seem to love.

The first thing you notice is how stylish the 2008 is. From the distinctive grill and sleek lights through to the rounded SUV profile. Its stands out from the other small SUVs that can sometimes all look alike.

Inside its even more stylish. I love the 3-dimensional digital drivers instruments. Its completely unique. I also like the Peugeot i-cockpit dash style with the sports steering wheel sitting below it.

Its an unusual driving position, but it really works well.

The 2008 GT model comes with a lot of little luxuries and safety features as well as a bunch of drivers assist technologies.

The 2008 is powered by a 1.2Litre 3-cylinder petrol engine that gets the balance between zippy performance and economy exactly right.

Its fun to drive and extremely comfortable.

If you want something just a little bit different with French styling and flair, then the Peugeot 2008 is for you.

The Peugeot 2008 GT looks beautiful. It’s a beacon of style in a sometimes-bland segment.

I really like it. Its an ideal runabout for a couple that want a little bit of space.

The smaller 1.2L engine performs well above what you might expect and its zippy and economical.

When you consider what you pay for other premium European brands, the 2008 GT is excellent value.

The Peugeot 2008 GT is for buyers that want something just a little different.
