K4 Sport Plus – Kia have replaced the popular Cerato with the all new K4. I just spent a week in the K4 Sport Plus model. This model sits just below the range topping GT model.
The K4 has a unique design. It looks like an elongated sedan, which I feel would better suit a liftback design.
Even though a few people commented on its looks, I have to say that I think it looks a tad ugly. I’m sure whoever signed off on the design doesn’t feel the same.
The K4 Sport Plus comes with a 2.0L 4-cylinder petrol engine that produces 112kW and 192Nm. This drives the front wheels through a six speed AT with torque converter.
It provides adequate performance and economy.
Inside is where the K4 shines. Its spacious and has an appealing ambience. One highlight is the wide screen comprising a 12.3-inch digital cluster, a dedicated 5-inch dedicated HVAC segment display and a separate 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen display.
Little touches like a full safety suite and wireless smart phone connectivity are appreciated.
Rear seats definitely have more room than the Cerato and I can fit reasonably comfortably. Middle seat is best used for arm rest.
The boot is long but lacks height. Its large, but the soon to be released hatchback may be a better proposition.
The Kia K4 Sport + is priced from $37,590 plus the usual costs.
