Jeep Grand Cherokee 4XE Road Test Review

Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe PHEV – Jeep released the Grand Cherokee Summit 4xe PHEV in mid-2023 to broaden the range and introduce a hybrid model.

Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit Reserve 4xe PHEV front quarter 1The Grand Cherokee is a luxurious and comfortable, large 4WD. The 5-seat version has heaps of space and huge boot capacity.

You sit cocooned in sumptuous front chairs, like a lounge chair at home and there is plenty of room for everyone both front and back.

The main difference with the hybrid model is it’s got everything Jeep can throw into it and the hybrid engine.

It comes with a turbocharged 4-cylinder petrol engine combined with two electric motors and a 17.3-kilowatt hour battery. This is enough for around 50km of electric only power and after that hybrid economy. It does take a long time to charge at home though. So overnight is the aim.

Overall, the 4xe system delivers 280 kilowatts of combined power and 637Newton metres of combined torque. This drives through the famous Jeep 4WD system and an 8 speed automatic transmission.

At times you feel like you are riding on air its that smooth and quiet.

All this comes at a price though and that is $129,950 plus the usual costs.
