i recently drove the Chev Silverado HD LTZ. This is a larger American style Pickup truck. Its bigger again than the Silverado 1500 series. Also Its an unusual vehicle in Australia and you really need a purpose to buy it.
Its BIG.
The story can be told by the numbers. And those numbers are BIG.
Let’s start with the size, its nearly 6.4m long with a wheelbase of a bit over 4.0 metres. It stands a touch over 2.0m tall and 2.2m wide. That doesn’t include the mirrors.
The turning circle is a massive at 16.1 m.
This usually means that underground carparks are a BIG NO. Even in suburban shopping centre car parks you find yourself heading for the far corner to have some room.
The engine is a whopping 6.6L V8 Turbo diesel. This has available some 350kW of power and 1,322, yes you heard that right 1,322 Nm of torque. It comes with a 10 speed AT and is capable of towing 4500kg.
The cargo bed is over 2 metres long and 1.8m metres wide. The payload can be optioned up to a massive 1386kg with a GVM of 5148kg.
Inside its like a luxury SUV with more room than almost anything else on the market.
Yes, the Chevrolet Silverado HD LTZ is big, but I absolutely love it
