Top ten cars – The top ten car sales in Australia for 2024 is a direct reflection of consumer demand, against the push by the government for EVs.
The top selling car overall was the Ford Ranger. Ford sold 62, 593 Rangers
Number two was the Toyota RAV 4. Toyota sold some 58,714 of these, and the overwhelming majority of those were hybrids
The Toyota HiLux sold 53,499 models next in line. These sales were followed by the
- Isuzu D-Max with 30,194 models sold. And the
- Mitsubishi Outlander with 27,613 sales.
The next top five models sold are
- Ford Everest 26,494
- Toyota Corolla 24,027
- Mazda CX-5 22,835
- MG ZS 22,629 and the
- Kia Sportage 22,210
As you can see from these figures, we like Utes and SUVs. That’s no surprise.
However, with the draconian NVES legislation coming into effect from 1st January 2025, the prices of our favourite diesel Utes will start to ramp up considerably.
