Here is a two-door coupe with two seats and a tiny boot space. The style brings mixed reactions from people, love it, or dislike it. I like it.

Inside its tight. I’m 170cm tall and fit comfortably, but my husband is 190cm tall and it’s a squeeze for him. One he is happy to do I have to say.

The Supra GTS is powered by a three-litre inline six-cylinder turbo petrol engine. This is good for 285 kilowatts of power and 500 newton metres of torque. There is an eight speed sports automatic transmission driving the rear wheels.

Performance is good at 4.1 seconds from 0-100kmh and a top speed of 250 kmh. Not that we will ever see that on the road. On a track maybe.

As you would expect the Supra is responsive to driver inputs. Ask it to do something and it does it. Simple.

While the Supra is a lot of fun to drive I’m not sure I could live with it every day. Its for the enthusiasts.

Also there would be very little change from $100,000 dollars to buy it

Stinger is more than a sports car. The GT means Gran Turismo. A vehicle you can drive long distances in comfort and style.

We’ve got the Stinger GT Carbon Edition which adds carbon fibre door mirrors, grille surround, fender vents, rear skid plate and hood vent. Inside it adds an Alcantara steering wheel and a badge.

Yes the Stinger is pretty fast 0-100kmh in 4.9 seconds and top speed of 270kmh. But that actually sells the car short. To get the same performance you would have to buy something like the Audi S5 Coupe that cost in excess of $130,000. Or you could buy the Hyundai version the Genesis G70 for about $90,000

Its appeal is that it is also so easy to drive every day and be comfortable. Air-conditioned seats, with multiple electronic adjustments, 360 degree cameras, and walk up boot opening are just a few of the comfort features.

Add to this Kias 7 year owner benefit package and a five star ANCAP safety rating.

Toyota Supra was launched in late 2019 and is a cousin to the BMW Z4 sharing engine, transmission and well pretty much everything.

Coming in two models the Supra GTS and the Supra GT ,  the difference is basically a bit of bling, larger wheels and upgraded infotainment system.

It comes with a smooth 3.0L inline 6 cylinder turbo petrol engine, 8 speed sports transmission, rear wheel drive, selectable drive modes, launch control and an electronically controlled LSD.

With 250kw and 500 Nm on tap it will go from 0-100kmh in 4.3 seconds and top out at a limited 250kmh. The engine crackle is also music to the ears.

It looks stunning, goes like a rocket, is awesome fun to drive but is really designed for someone smaller than me. It is an uncompromising 2 seat sports car with just enough room for a couple of soft bags for a weekend away.

At around $84,500 plus the usual costs it’s also a performance bargain. Just don’t buy one as a daily driver. Keep it for the weekend and find a nice bit of twisty mountain road and enjoy life.

Toyota Supra, a joint development with BMW Z4, continues the sports car heritage dating back to 1967 with the 2000GT.

Launched in September 2019. The latest variation has shaken off any previous misconceptions and is an uncompromising sports car. That spearheads Toyota’s new GAZOO Racing performance brand. As its first global model that was developed in collaboration with the brand’s motorsports arm.

Coming in two models the Supra GTS and the Supra GT that we have for test. The difference is basically

• a bit of bling,
• larger wheels and
• upgraded infotainment system.

From the low sloping bonnet with power bulges and vents to the rounded hatchback design with central twin exhaust pipes, its pure symmetry. I got more people stopping and looking or watching as I drove past in this car than almost anything else I have driven. People love the design.

I drove a silver P380 R Dynamic version with the silky smooth 3.0L Supercharged V6 engine that produces power of 280Kw driving the rear wheels through an eight speed Quickshift transmission. The P380 will go from 0-100km/h in 4.9 seconds and tops out at 275 km/h.

Even though I am built like a bear at 190cm tall I actually fit rather comfortably in the driver’s seat, and there is enough room for luggage for two for a weekend away.

Priced from around $199,900 as tested the F-TYPE possesses a level of sophisticated simplicity that not only pays homage to its heritage but also belies its futuristic appeal it has character aplenty.

Almost everyone recognises the Jaguar E-TYPE as possibly the most beautiful sports car of its time, does the F-TYPE repeat history? Jaguar F-TYPE, first launched in 2012. Is the spiritual and visual embodiment of the E-TYPE classic sports car. The F-TYPE is simply stunning in design.
