This was update late in 2022 with refreshed front styling and updated safety and comfort features.

The Sport comes with a 2.0L 4 Cylinder Atkinson cycle petrol engine combined with a CVT and drives the front wheels only.

The upgrade brought refreshed internal layout a dual 10.25” display that greatly enhances the interior look and feel.

Safety has also been upgraded with:

• Intelligent Speed Limit Assist (ISLA),
• Lane Following Assist (LFA),
• Rear-Cross Traffic Collision Avoidance Assist (RCCA) and
• Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist (BCA).

One thing I particularly like is that the Seltos comes with a full-size spare tyre.

Overall, I like the Seltos. Its just the right size for urban traffic and large enough for trips away with a heap of luggage. I do prefer the 1.6T engine on higher spec models, but the 2.0L engine is more than adequate.

Kia Seltos Sport is priced from a little under $33,000 plus the usual costs.

The Seltos is a little bit smaller than the Sportage, but spacious inside. It also has clever styling.

Inside the GT-Line you get everything you want. It comes with little luxuries like heated and cooled front seats, heated steering wheel, ambient lighting, and wireless charging tray for smartphones.

The front seats are particularly comfortable. Rear seat can be a little tight for taller passengers, but boot room is spacious.

For the driver there is a large driver instrument panel and integrated central touch screen. It’s all rather splendid.

The GT-Line comes with a 1.6L turbo petrol engine that combines good fuel economy with enough performance. It also comes with an eight-speed automatic transmission and all wheel drive capability.

Being the top model, the Seltos GT-Line comes with the full package of safety features from Kia.

Overall, the Kia Seltos GT-Line is quite impressive and manages to get the balance right between size, performance, and practicality for an urban runabout.

Priced from around $45,000 plus the usual costs its also good value.

• Seltos is an ideal size for the balance between urban runabout and for longer trips.
• The GT-Line comes with a heap of bling which makes it more comfortable.
• It also comes with the full suite of safety features.
• Inside its spacious (for its size)
• I like the integrated dash with the centrals screen seamlessly blending with the drivers’ instruments.
• Wireless phone charging is good. Wired connectivity needs updating. The base model gets it and Kia have explained why but still.
• Front occupants are well catered for.
• Rear seat room is good for this class of vehicle.
• Boot is a good size.
• The GT Line has the clever and sporty 1.6L Turbo petrol engine, AWD, and an 8 speed AT.
• This is a zippy and economical combination.
• There are three selectable drive modes, Eco Normal and Sport. Along with the AWD system

When the Seltos first was released, it set the pace in the segment. It is now a few years older and in some ways it shows.

However, the GT-Line is still a practical, fun, and safe urban style SUV.

Its size sits somewhere between segments. Spacious inside and compact outside its not wonder it’s so popular.

I really liked the Kia Seltos GT-Line.

Either vehicle is an ideal size for urban runabout and weekend traveler. Both vehicles are comfortable and quiet to drive.

The interior is well laid out with both models having the larger central screen. Being a KIA, the build quality is excellent. Also all models come with a full size spare tyre which is important.

I prefer the 1.6L Turbo with the traditional AT as well as the AWD and that is available in the sport Plus model as well. Its zippy, economical and brings a edge of fun to the driving experience.

Kia Seltos is priced from a touch under $30,000 through to  a bit under $45,000 plus the usual costs.

Subaru XV and Kia Seltos are two main models in the small to medium SUV segment. We chose the top spec models in each model range to compare.

Both models are in many ways so close and yet there are significant differences between them, enough to push prospective buyers either way depending on what they want from a SUV.

The Subaru XV has been around for a few years now and a sales success, while the Seltos was released late in 2019 and immediately stamped its presence on the market.

Subaru is powered by a 2.0L boxer engine with a CVT while the Seltos is slightly sportier with a 1.6L turbo engine and a DSG transmission.

Both are packed with a full suite of safety features, the Seltos has a bit more bling and comfort, the Subaru has its famous eyesight system.

The Seltos on demand AWD system is good, the Subaru constant symmetrical AWD is better. It also has significantly more ground clearance than the Seltos. If your driving style favours the more adventurous then the Subaru is definitely for you. The Seltos is better suited to urban driving.
