GX 550 Overtrail – Lexus has added the luxury GX model to its 4WD range . It’s based on the new Prado but with some significant differences.
I just drove the off-road version the GX 550 Overtrail.
“The starting price for this model is $122,250 plus on-roads, targeting off-road enthusiasts and incorporating specific features such as:”
- 18-inch alloy wheels and all-terrain tyres
- unique off-road enhanced front and rear bumpers,
- black wheelarch mouldings and other external bling
- Adaptive Variable Suspension (AVS)
- Electronic-Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System (eKDSS) for the perfect balance of off-road driveability and on-road handling stability.
Powered by a a 3.5-litre twin-turbo V6 petrol engine, The Lexus GX has available 260kW of power and 650Nm of torque. The GX550 also comes with full-time all-wheel drive system with a locking centre differential and low-range gearing. This car is equipped with a DirectShift 10-speed torque-converter automatic transmission.
The Overtrail has an integrated tow hitch and a 3500kg capacity.
On e thing I do like is the slightly unusual design. It’s a little different and bold which certainly held appeal from onlookers.
