<p><img fetchpriority="high" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-1240" src="https://motoringminute.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/GWM-Tank-300-Ultra-4WD-front-quarter-2.jpg" alt="GWM Tank 300 Ultra 4WD front quarter 2" width="1800" height="1200" srcset="https://motoringminute.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/GWM-Tank-300-Ultra-4WD-front-quarter-2.jpg 1800w, https://motoringminute.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/GWM-Tank-300-Ultra-4WD-front-quarter-2-300x200.jpg 300w, https://motoringminute.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/GWM-Tank-300-Ultra-4WD-front-quarter-2-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https://motoringminute.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/GWM-Tank-300-Ultra-4WD-front-quarter-2-768x512.jpg 768w, https://motoringminute.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/GWM-Tank-300-Ultra-4WD-front-quarter-2-1536x1024.jpg 1536w" sizes="(max-width: 1800px) 100vw, 1800px" /></p>
<p>I drove one a few weeks ago and both loved it and was frustrated by it at the same time.</p>
<p>First up it looks cool. It’s a chunky style and in the bright orange colour it certainly stood out.</p>
<p>Inside its comfortable, relatively spacious, and well laid out. The heated and ventilated front seats are supportive and allow enough room for my tall frame.</p>
<p>Where the frustration comes in is the clunky user interface and simply bad voice recognition. Little things like turning off the lane keep assist which I do every time is four layers in the central screen menu and sometimes the touch sensitivity isn’t the best.</p>
<p>Where I loved it is driving. Its not bad on road, with enough performance to keep you happy. However off road it excels. Front and rear diff locks, Multi 4WD choices and responsive feel in both steering and accelerator, places it right up there with the best 4WD’s around.</p>
<p>And the best part is that it is priced from a stunning $46,990 driveaway for the entry model. That’s value.</p>
<p>This is a Motoring Minute</p>

<h2><strong>More GWM Tank 300 Ultra 4WD details </strong></h2>
<h3><strong>Tank 300 little Daily things that frustrate.</strong></h3>
<p>The Tank can be frustrating as mentioned. Little things like</p>
<ul>
<li>Overly intrusive safety features,</li>
<li>Menu driven controls that require up to 4 pushes of the screen to simply turn off the lane keep assist,</li>
<li>touch sensitivity on the central screen that is haphazard.</li>
<li>Digital drivers dash central MFD that won’t show anything else except the lane keep unless you turn it off.</li>
<li>Cruise control that thinks for itself when it shouldn’t</li>
<li>Stop start calibration seems just a bit off.</li>
<li>One touch indicator for lane swapping is finicky, often switching on and not turning off, and when you go to turn it off you end up indicating the other way.</li>
<li>On a couple of occasions, the push door opening refused to work, and I had to use the fob.</li>
</ul>
<p>These are all little things that I’m sure GWM will work out and recalibrate where necessary. But they exist now.</p>
<p><img decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-1243" src="https://motoringminute.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/GWM-Tank-300-Ultra-4WD-central-screen-3.jpg" alt="GWM Tank 300 Ultra 4WD central screen 3" width="1800" height="1200" srcset="https://motoringminute.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/GWM-Tank-300-Ultra-4WD-central-screen-3.jpg 1800w, https://motoringminute.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/GWM-Tank-300-Ultra-4WD-central-screen-3-300x200.jpg 300w, https://motoringminute.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/GWM-Tank-300-Ultra-4WD-central-screen-3-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https://motoringminute.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/GWM-Tank-300-Ultra-4WD-central-screen-3-768x512.jpg 768w, https://motoringminute.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/GWM-Tank-300-Ultra-4WD-central-screen-3-1536x1024.jpg 1536w" sizes="(max-width: 1800px) 100vw, 1800px" /></p>

<h3><strong>Also look at.</strong></h3>
<p>Smaller 4WDs are a bit of a sparse offering. However, the Tank 300 will cross boundaries.</p>
<p>Buyers could look at <span style="color: #333300;"><a style="color: #333300;" href="https://motoringminute.com.au/jeep-gladiator-rubicon-4wd-ute-2023-review/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Jeep Wrangler</a></span>, which is a lot more expensive or the <span style="color: #333300;"><a style="color: #333300;" href="https://www.ozroamer.com.au/jeep-compass-trailhawk-4wd-2020-review/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Jeep Compass Trailhawk</a></span>.</p>
<p>Larger 4WDs include <span style="color: #333300;"><a style="color: #333300;" href="https://motoringminute.com.au/updated-isuzu-mu-x-ls-t-4wd-2023-review/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Isuzu MU-X</a></span>, <span style="color: #333300;"><a style="color: #333300;" href="https://www.anyauto.com.au/2020-mitsubishi-pajero-sport-gls-7-review/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Mitsubishi Pajero Sport,</a> <a style="color: #333300;" href="https://www.ozroamer.com.au/ssangyong-rexton-black-edition-4wd-suv-2023-review/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">SsangYong Rexton</a>,</span> <span style="color: #333300;"><a style="color: #333300;" href="https://www.anyauto.com.au/toyota-fortuner-crusade-4wd-2021-review-2/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Toyota Fortuner</a></span>.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-1242" src="https://motoringminute.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/GWM-Tank-300-Ultra-4WD-profile-2.jpg" alt="GWM Tank 300 Ultra 4WD profile 2" width="1800" height="1200" srcset="https://motoringminute.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/GWM-Tank-300-Ultra-4WD-profile-2.jpg 1800w, https://motoringminute.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/GWM-Tank-300-Ultra-4WD-profile-2-300x200.jpg 300w, https://motoringminute.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/GWM-Tank-300-Ultra-4WD-profile-2-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https://motoringminute.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/GWM-Tank-300-Ultra-4WD-profile-2-768x512.jpg 768w, https://motoringminute.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/GWM-Tank-300-Ultra-4WD-profile-2-1536x1024.jpg 1536w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1800px) 100vw, 1800px" /></p>
<h2><strong>GWM Tank 300 4WD </strong><strong>Ultra </strong><strong>final thoughts</strong></h2>
<p>Tank 300 4WD leaves you with mixed feelings.</p>
<p>It seems well built, is comfortable inside. There is a large, clear central screen. However, user interface is frustrating. As is the intrusive safety features, especially the cruise control.</p>
<p>Off road it fights in a weight class well above its price range.</p>
<p>On sand it’s excellent, on dirt roads its smooth and compliant. The rough stuff it handles with ease. This is one a few vehicles that has front and rear diff locks and the least expensive by far.</p>
<p>I would be interested to drive the hybrid version, which would improve one issue of being thirsty along with extra power and torque.</p>
<p>The overall feel is practical, functional, spacious but has some issues that will be developed out as time passes.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #ff0000;"><strong>There is nothing that even comes close to the capability, comfort and size for the price and that is a winning formula.</strong></span></p>
<p>It should be on your list for a test drive.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-1238" src="https://motoringminute.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/GWM-Tank-300-Ultra-4WD-rear-2.jpg" alt="GWM Tank 300 Ultra 4WD rear 2" width="1800" height="1200" srcset="https://motoringminute.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/GWM-Tank-300-Ultra-4WD-rear-2.jpg 1800w, https://motoringminute.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/GWM-Tank-300-Ultra-4WD-rear-2-300x200.jpg 300w, https://motoringminute.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/GWM-Tank-300-Ultra-4WD-rear-2-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https://motoringminute.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/GWM-Tank-300-Ultra-4WD-rear-2-768x512.jpg 768w, https://motoringminute.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/GWM-Tank-300-Ultra-4WD-rear-2-1536x1024.jpg 1536w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1800px) 100vw, 1800px" /></p>

Jaguar F-TYPE, first launched in 2012, is the spiritual and visual embodiment of the E-TYPE classic sports car. The F-TYPE is simply stunning in design.</strong></p>

<p>From the low sloping bonnet with power bulges and vents to the rounded hatchback design with central twin exhaust pipes, its pure symmetry. I got more people stopping and looking or watching as I drove past in this car than almost anything else I have driven. People love the design.</p>
<p>I drove a silver P380 R Dynamic version with the silky smooth 3.0L Supercharged V6 engine that produces power of 280Kw driving the rear wheels through an eight speed Quickshift transmission. The P380 will go from 0-100km/h in 4.9 seconds and tops out at 275 km/h.</p>
<p>Even though I am built like a bear at 190cm tall I actually fit rather comfortably in the driver’s seat, and there is enough room for luggage for two for a weekend away.</p>
<p>Priced from around $199,900 as tested the F-TYPE possesses a level of sophisticated simplicity that not only pays homage to its heritage but also belies its futuristic appeal it has character aplenty.</p>

<h3>Jaguar F-Type quick recap</h3>
<p>Jaguar E-TYPE was possibly the most beautiful sports car of its time, does the F-TYPE repeat history? Jaguar F-TYPE, first launched in 2012, is the spiritual and visual embodiment of the E-TYPE classic sports car. The F-TYPE is simply stunning in design.</p>

<p>First launched in 2009 then with an <span style="color: #333300;"><strong><a style="color: #333300;" href="https://www.ozroamer.com.au/audi-2nd-generation-q5-awd-suv-quattro-launch-review/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">all new version in 2017</a></strong></span>, the latest update brings a fresh style while continuing the Audi traditions.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<h3><strong>What does the new Audi Q5 look like?</strong></h3>
<p>Styling has undergone some subtle refreshment to bring the model in line with the new design language.</p>
<p>There is a bolder single frame front grill, 19 or 20 inch alloy wheels model specific,</p>
<p>new LED headlights and daytime running lights, alloy wheels and a claimed world first digital OLED tail lights as an option.</p>
<p>Add to this some profile line highlights and the new model seems quite fresh and stylish.</p>
<h3><strong>What is the Q5 like inside?</strong></h3>
<p>The refresh continues inside. Q5 has always been exceptionally comfortable.</p>
<p>The driver’s seat is great especially the sport model with electronic adjustment and heating. A thick rimmed multi function leather steering wheel frames the Audi virtual cockpit.</p>
<p>Couple of highlights.</p>
<p>The MMI touch screen now means that there is room for another small pocket ion the transmission tunnel where the touch pad was previously.</p>
<p>There is a single line that separates the upper dash from the lower section, that is silver as standard but can be optioned as carbon fibre of woodgrain and adds to the overall ambience as well as a bringing a feeling of space.</p>
<p>Rear seats are more for two but have adequate room and are again very comfortable. Otherwise not much has changed inside since the last time we reviewed the<span style="color: #333300;"><a style="color: #333300;" href="https://www.ozroamer.com.au/audi-2nd-generation-q5-awd-suv-quattro-launch-review/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong> Q5 HERE</strong></a></span>.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>The luggage compartment can store up to 520 litres (1,520 litres with the backrests folded flat). The rear seat can be split 40:20:40 and optionally slides fore/aft to create additional luggage space or legroom, as desired.</p>
