I recently drove the top model, the Polestar 2 Long range Dual motor with Performance pack.

That’s a mouthful.

The Polestar  is a four door liftback style that has a definite edge to the overall appeal. The Snow-White colour we had added to the dramatic effect.

Once inside, the large vertical central screen dominates the look. This sits on top of a bulky central tunnel and clever twin shelf storage area.

I have to say the transmission lever is a little unusual. Front seats are comfortable, rear seats a little tight. The liftback boot is spacious and practical.

This vehicle is powered by an 85-kilowatt hour battery. Which provides some 350kW of power and over 700 newton metres of torque.

It’s quick with a 0-100 kilometre per hour time of 4.2 seconds.

Overall, its relatively easy to drive. I changed the braking regeneration down a level, so the one pedal driving style isn’t so abrupt.

With a claimed range of 568km and an economy of around 17-kilowatt hour per 100 kilometres, it seems to combine practicality and performance.

Our experience showed that the range was closer to 500km.

The Polestar 2 long range, dual motor EV, with performance pack is around $92,500 drive away and that’s a lot of money.

Polestar is the only electric car manufacturer that attempts to trace the end to end production affect on the environment. With massive environmental damage often caused by mining the minerals for batteries, a transparent tracing model is a step in the right direction to protect the environment

Polestar 3 is an all-electric AWD SUV that comes with a 111 kWh battery pack that provides Polestar 3 with an estimated WLTP driving range of up to 610 km.

The dual-motor configuration with power bias towards the rear produces a total of 360 kW and 840 Nm of torque. With the optional Performance Pack, total output is upped to 380 kW and 910 Nm.

It is also equipped for bidirectional charging, enabling future potential for vehicle-to-grid and plug-and-charge capabilities.

The Polestar 3 will come with an extensive list of standard features as well as a few options to make choosing your car easier.

Polestar 3 is planned for launch in Australia from first quarter 2024 with two versions, the Long range Dual motor, priced from AUD 132,900*, and the Long range Dual motor with Performance Pack, starting at AUD 141,900*.
