I recently drove the top model, the Polestar 2 Long range Dual motor with Performance pack.

That’s a mouthful.

The Polestar  is a four door liftback style that has a definite edge to the overall appeal. The Snow-White colour we had added to the dramatic effect.

Once inside, the large vertical central screen dominates the look. This sits on top of a bulky central tunnel and clever twin shelf storage area.

I have to say the transmission lever is a little unusual. Front seats are comfortable, rear seats a little tight. The liftback boot is spacious and practical.

This vehicle is powered by an 85-kilowatt hour battery. Which provides some 350kW of power and over 700 newton metres of torque.

It’s quick with a 0-100 kilometre per hour time of 4.2 seconds.

Overall, its relatively easy to drive. I changed the braking regeneration down a level, so the one pedal driving style isn’t so abrupt.

With a claimed range of 568km and an economy of around 17-kilowatt hour per 100 kilometres, it seems to combine practicality and performance.

Our experience showed that the range was closer to 500km.

The Polestar 2 long range, dual motor EV, with performance pack is around $92,500 drive away and that’s a lot of money.
