We have chatted a few times previously about Automotive companies charitable efforts and the idea of corporate responsibility.

This week lest chat about the partnership between Bridgestone and the Leukaemia Foundation.

For the last ten years Bridgestone has supported a purpose-built facility called the Bridgestone Australia Village. It is now being renamed as Bridgestone Blood Cancer Centre.

This initiative has supported hundreds of families through providing accommodation for people living with blood cancer.

Since opening in October 2013, the Leukaemia Foundation Bridgestone Australia Village has provided more than 35,156 nights of accommodation to more than 337 families from at least 28 regions throughout South Australia, the Northern Territory, Victoria, and New South Wales.

The Bridgestone Blood Cancer Centre is a key part of the Leukaemia Foundation’s network of 11 accommodation centres throughout Australia located near major blood cancer treatment locations.

In addition to this centre Bridgestone is a major supporter for transport needs of patient transport through various means.

Also Bridgestone Select Tyre and Auto stores donate $2 from every Bridgestone Turanza Serenity Plus tyres sold to the blood cancer charity.
