There are three models on the range, the XLT, Lariat and Platinum. All come in a choice of SWB or LWB versions. All are a Crew Cab configuration.

The new Platinum series features:

• exterior black highlights
• 20-inch wheels,
• ‘Platinum’ branded accents,
• auto power-deployable side steps,
• a multi-folding hard tonneau cover, and
• bespoke suspension tune using Continuously Controlled Dampers.

The interior is equally impressive with:

• black onyx luxury trim,
• plush multi-adjustable front seats with multi-massage functionality, and
• an innovative fold-flat sleeping mode for ultimate comfort during breaks.

The updated F-150 continues to be powered by the 3.5L EcoBoost V6 engine, producing power of 298kW @ 6000rpm and torque of 678Nm @ 3100rpm.

This is paired with a 10 speed Automatic transmission.

I’ve found that this engine transmission combination can be both economical and thirsty, depending on how heavy your right foot is.

The XLT comes with part time 4WD and the other two models with full time 4WD.

Towing capacity for all models is 4500 kg.

Pricing for the updated F-150 starts at $114,950 for the XLT through to $163,950 for the Platinum. All plus the usual delivery costs. Surprisingly, the price is the same if it’s a SWB or LWB version. That’s clever.

Im a big fan of the Ford F-150 and the recent updates make a good Pickup truck even better.
