Kia Picanto GT driven for 2024

Kia Picanto GT – Last week I drove something different to the usual SUV or passenger car. I drove the micro sized Kia Picanto GT.

This is a small urban styled runabout. The version I had was a manual transmission. This in itself is unusual.

What is good is that the Picanto comes in at a price around the $20,000 mark (plus the usual costs), depending on whether you but the sport or GT and manual or automatic.

Despite it being small and my preference for large SUV style vehicles, I actually had a lot of fun zipping around for the week.

Its comfortable, relatively quiet and can park almost anywhere.

Being small doesn’t mean it misses out of safety features and little luxuries. The Kia Picanto GT comes with blind spot assistance, Lane keep assist, rear cross traffic collision avoidance and heated external mirrors plus more.

The 1.2 litre petrol engine and five speed manual transmission is a good combination. Smooth, easy to use and economical. As mentioned, its zips around town and is fun to drive.

Its even big enough for my dad at 190cm and a bit larger than the average bear. He fitted comfortably. It was amusing to see him get out of it though.
