Pricing ranges from $99,900 through to $156,400 all plus the usual costs

Built on a new EV specific architecture that is shared with Porsche the Q6 heralds a step forward for the brand.

Q6 e-tron offers a choice of drive configurations: from a single motor rear-wheel-drive variant to dual-motor all-wheel drive, with performance-oriented models like the SQ6 e-tron at the top of the range.

All versions use a 94.9 kWh useable battery pack capable of fast DC charging, meaning you can recharge a large percentage of the battery in around 20 – 25 minutes at high-power charging stations.

Range is strong too, with many versions rated over 600 km on the WLTP cycle, helping ease range anxiety. However, like fuel consumption figures real world range often differs. And low 500km is more realistic.

As you would expect the premium interior is driver focused. There is reasonable space thanks to the new platform.

Technology is a focus as well with a departure from the central stacked screens to a large horizontal design. It is practical and well laid out.

Audi are drivers’ cars and the Q6 e-tron displays a combination of quiet, refined electric driving with responsive performance. They will happily potter along but scoot along when asked, especially the SQ6 versions.

The e VITARA will be available in two variants – Motion and Ultra.

Suzuki will equip the Ultra variant with an electric 4WD system “ALLGRIP-e,” which provides not only off-road capability but also powerful performance. The e VITARA builds on Suzuki’s newly developed HEARTECT-e platform, designed specifically for battery electric vehicles.

They offer battery capacity configurations of either 49kWh 2WD (motion) with 106kW of power or 61kWh 4WD with ALLGRIP-e (Ultra) with 135 kW available. The Ultra also has 114Nm of additional torque available.

Available with the Ultra variant, ALLGRIP-e is Suzuki’s newly developed electric four-wheel drive system, utilising separate front and rear electric motors for precise torque control. The rear eAxle also helps boost traction when required in slippery conditions.

The e VITARA supports both AC and DC charging, with fast-charging capability enabling convenient top-ups and reduced charging times.

e VITARA offers a Heat Pump as standard equipment across the range which plays a key role in optimising battery performance, driving range and charging efficiency in varying temperatures.

Pricing will be released closer to launch dates.

Suzuki Vitara has undergone many design and functional changes over the years. From a compact true dual range 4WD through to a soft urban SU, and now an all-electric SUV.

I have owned tow Vitara’s in the past. A soft top and a hard top version. Needless to say, they were the true 4WD versions.

It will be interesting to see how this all electric version stacks up

Electric vehicles (EVs) and plug-in hybrid vehicles (PHEVs) both reduce fuel use, but they differ significantly in benefits and challenges.

A fully electric vehicle such as the Kia EV5 runs entirely on battery power. Its main advantage is zero tailpipe emissions, which helps reduce localised air pollution. EVs can be cheaper to operate because electricity may cost less than petrol, and they have fewer moving parts, leading to lower maintenance needs. However, they are significantly more expensive to buy.

They also provide smooth, quiet performance and instant torque. However, EVs can have limited driving range compared to petrol or diesel vehicles, and long-distance travel depends on access to charging infrastructure. Charging times can also be longer than refuelling a gas tank, which may be inconvenient for some drivers.

In contrast, a plug-in hybrid like the Haval H6 GT combines a battery-powered motor with a petrol engine. This setup allows drivers to travel short distances on electricity alone while relying on fuel for longer trips. The main benefit is flexibility: there is no “range anxiety” because the petrol engine provides backup.

PHEVs can be ideal for commuters who drive short distances daily but occasionally travel far. On the downside, You have to charge them for maximum efficiency, they still produce localised driving emissions when using petrol  and require maintenance for both the electric system and the internal combustion engine. They are also often more complex mechanically.

Overall, EVs maximize localised environmental benefits, while PHEVs balance electric efficiency with petrol -powered convenience.

The only real difference between them is the level of performance.

The RWD version will go from 0-100kmh in 6.7 seconds. Not bad., However the AWD version has a sub 4 second time. That’s quick.

I have to say few cars have attracted as much attention as these did. It was noticeable that  people were staring as I drove past When I parked people came up to me to ask what it is.

That’s because it has very unusual styling. It’s a blend of Coupe, SUV, Liftback and more. I am a big and It is one of the coolest designed cars available today.

Inside the cool theme continues with minimalist design and a spacious ambience.

Front seats are exceptionally supportive and comfortable.

In front of the driver is a sleek steering wheel, no drivers’ instruments, just a comprehensive HUD.

The central screen is the control centre of the vehicle.

It tilts towards you as you enter.

It takes a while to become familiarised with the menus. But they are generally intuitive.

There is so much technology that it’s a little intimidating. Combine this with the unique slide open boot and lay down seats and you are looking at a vehicle like no other.

It’s actually one of my favourite cars and impossible to describe in a minute.

Subaru Solterra is one of my favourite electric vehicles. It is a lot to fun to drive and retains the Subaru DNA for adventurous drivers.

With 212 mm of ground clearance, Dual Mode X-Mode and Drive Mode Select, the vehicle maintains its capability, allowing drivers to explore far beyond the normal roads and highways.

The designers addressed one criticism of the outgoing model regarding range by incorporating a larger 74.7 Kw/h lithium ion battery, which now provides a WLTP range of up to 566 km.

Combined with that is a lift in power from the dual electric motors up to 262 kW.

Not only does it have more range and power, but it will charge faster with maximum charging increased to 22kW.

Inside the first thing you notice is the 14 inch central touch screen. This houses the infotainment and wireless smart phone connectivity. Complimenting that is wireless charging as well for compatible devices.

New LED ambient lighting offers 64 customisable colours, while acoustic glass and refined suspension tuning help ensure a quieter, more composed drive.

With some styling upgrades the Solterra also has a more athletic yet sleek exterior look.

Pricing for the 2026 Subaru Solterra starts from $63,990 plus the usual costs.

All, these changes are needed to keep the Solterra competitive with the ever growing list of EV models available.

The safety features were excessively intrusive and the beeps and bongs overly annoying.

However fast forward just a few months and the manufacturer has fixed almost all the issues.

What we have now is an extremely interesting electric SUV.

For a start is looks great. Many recent EVs look like they have come out of the sane design school. The DEEPAL SO7 looks just different enough to be stylish.

The fixes mostly revolve around software updates. The new theme is that you can select to turn off some of the intrusive safety features and they stay off.

It should be noted that many of today’s intrusive safety features are driven by the need for ANCAP to try to keep its relevance. Not consumer demand.

DEEPAL SO7 comes with a 79.97 Kw/h battery with a WLTP range up to 477 km. It has 160 kW of power and 320Nm of torque. This drives the rear wheels through a one speed reduction gear transmission

None of these figures are outstanding yet they combine, especially the rear wheel drive, to provide some fun driver engagement.

That seems to be the essence of the DEEPAL SO7. It somehow manages to ingratiate itself to the driver. It’s actually really pleasant to drive and feels simply comfortable.

This isn’t your typical ‘driver’s car’; it’s more like the car that drives you. Let’s break it down.

Under the sleek exterior, the IM5 packs an 800V SiC platform—a fancy way of saying this car is built to charge quickly and perform even faster. With an all-wheel drive system and a maximum power output of 372 kW from the rear motor, the IM5 shoots from 0 to 100 kilometres per hour in just 3.2 seconds.
