The first thing you notice is the beautiful design. Audi get the Sportback style just right. And I’m not the only one, I was stopped by many people to comment on how good looking the design is.

Inside its typically Audi, comfortable, luxurious, and functional. There is plenty of room for all occupants. Front seats are heated along with multiple electronic seat adjustments.

The Q8 Sportback e-tron has a 114kWh battery that is good for a realistic range of 430km.

Performance is brisk from the 300kW power and 664Nm of torque. It will go from 0-100km/h in 5.6 seconds. Remember this Q8 weighs around 2700kg, so it’s not a lightweight.

Ride is smooth and handling allows for spirited driver engagement.

Its also so quiet. That’s one advantage and downfall of electric cars.

I particularly like little convenience factors like gesture control for the electronic tailgate, 4 zone climate controlled A/C and the wireless smart phone connectivity and charging.

I also like the haptic feel of the touch screen, although strangely it disappears when using Apple CarPlay.

The Audi Q8 Sportback e-tron 55 Quattro is priced from around $167,000 plus options and the usual costs.
