Almost everyone knows that Jeep can trace its roots back to the 1940s.

The Overland is comfortable inside and has a surprising amount of room.

Jeep has done a decent job of the driver ergonomics and dash layout. I do like the central screen and drivers instruments as well as the thick steering wheel. The only issue is the lack of room for the drivers left foot as the transmission tunnel intrudes. An issue converting from LHD to RHD.

The latest Wrangler now comes with  2.0L 4-cyl turbo petrol engine, boasting 200 kW of maximum power and 400 Nm of torque. It also comes with an 8 Sp dual range transmission.

I especially like the sky one touch power retractable soft top. It allows the fresh air driving without the hassle of removing the hard top and storing it. It is a $6,450 option but definitely worth it.

Jeep Wrangler Overland is priced from around $84,000 plus the usual costs.

I’ve always loved Jeeps. They embody a sense of freedom that few cars provide. That could also be because the first car I ever drove on the farm at 11 years old was a WW2 Jeep.

In an automotive world that is becoming increasingly homogenised. Cars such as the Jeep Wrangler inject some personality into the industry.
