Mazda CX-3 – I recently drove the compact Mazda CX-3 for a weekend away down to Kiama for a wedding. The model we had was Touring SP which sits near the top of the range.
This makes an ideal weekend getaway car for two people. There was plenty of room for our luggage. It was also especially comfortable with heated leather font seats that were supportive for the drive.
The electric seats and adjustable steering wheel meant that both my husband and I could easily find our ideal driving position with ease.
The 8-inch central screen had wireless Apple CarPlay connectivity. but Android Auto needed a USB connection.
Little touches like an excellent reversing camera, clear audio system and a heap of safety features all made the drive better.
The CX-3 has a two-litre petrol engine that has reasonable performance and economy. It was quiet and smooth to drive with a six-speed auto transmission and front wheel drive.
There are plenty of smaller SUVs to choose from these days. But this makes an ideal inner-city runabout with the capacity for longer weekends away.
The price of the Mazda CX-3 range starts at around $27,000 and goes up to almost $39,000 plus the usual costs.
