GV80 Coupe – The large SUV Coupe styling has become popular in recent years and perhaps the two best examples of this are the Audi SQ8 Sportback e-tron and the Genesis GV80 Coupe.
I drove the Genesis last week and absolutely loved it.
All week I had people chatting to me about how beautiful the design is. They seem to get the balance just right.
Inside the GV80 Coupe is all luxury and comfort. Let’s start with the seats. They are sumptuous and embrace the occupants like a lounge chair.
The flat bottom steering wheel surrounds the digital dash. To the left is a wide central screen that has excellent clarity.
There are flashes of real carbon fibre mixed with quilted Nappa Leather enhance the interior ambience.
Rear seats have a recline function as well as a fold flat ability. They also have two isofix and top tether points for baby seats.
Leg room is restricted and I’m not really a fan of the digital screens on the rear of the front seats.
The boot is generous but slightly limited by the coupe roof line.
Performance comes from a 3.5 litre V6 petrol engine that has reasonable acceleration but can get thirsty if pushed hard.
Ride is smooth and handling has a rear wheel bias with all wheel drive capability.
Pricing for the Genesis GV80 Coupe is from a little over $135,000 dollars plus the usual costs.
