Ford F-150 Lariat driven for 2025

Ford F-150 Lariat road test review

F-150 Lariat – one segment of the new car market that has shown growth recently is the American Pickup Trucks. Ford has been a recent entrant, and I drove the F-150 Lariat recently.

What’s not to like. The F-150 looks big and bold. It has presence.

Inside the first thing you notice is space. Im 190 cm tall, and larger than the average bear and I can fit behind the driver’s seat if its set for me. That’s almost unheard of. And three of me would fit across the rear seat.

Front seats are generous and comfortable. They are heated and ventilated with additional lumbar support. The large drivers instrument screen and central screen provide everything you need. I also love the thick steering wheel.

There is wireless smart phone connectivity, charging tray and a premium audio system.

The F-150 is powered by a 3.5 L twin turbo V6 petrol engine. This provides 298 kW of power and 678 Nm of torque. This combines with a 10 Sp automatic transmission and dual range 4WD.

It’s rated to tow 4500 kg.

Around town it can get thirsty, but of the motorway I got it down to around 9.o l/100k. That’s pretty good.

For its size, its remarkably easy and fun to drive. It is however large in suburban car parks.

Jumping into the F-150 feels like putting on a favourite pair of jeans. It just feels right.

Pricing for the Ford F-150 Lariat is from close to $141,000 plus the usual costs. That’s actually good value.
