WRX tS Spec B – I’ve just spent a week in the latest Subaru WRX Ts Spec B special edition. This models harks back the special rally editions from years ago with a heap of stylish and functional additions.
From the exterior this model is easily recognisable with the huge rear spoiler, along with larger Brembo brakes, ventilated and drilled front and rear discs and 19 inch alloy wheels.
Inside the tS Spec B has Recaro sports seats, with electronic adjustment for the driver, heated front seats as well as outer rear seats,
Performance additions include Drive Mode select for the manual. This includes electronically adjustable dampers, enabling drivers to customise their driving dynamics for a more personalised experience.
There is a new 12.3-inch full LCD instrument cluster, NEW Emergency Driving Stop System (EDSS), and a great feeling leather steering wheel with STI logo.
But the best feature is the sports exhaust that delivers a delicious burble from the turbo boxer engine.
The Subaru WRX has long been a sports car performance icon, and even though the competition has caught up and sometimes bettered it, there is an amazing amount of popularity amongst the public for this car.
But the WRX at heart is a driver car. The boxer engine delivers. It’s not outright fast from a standstill, but:
Through the gears on a windy back road there are few cars that deliver as much excitement
and driver engagement as the WRX Ts Spec B.
In short it was a blast to drive.
